Richard E. Chaisson, M.D., is Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and International Health and Director of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Tuberculosis Research and Principal Investigator of the Hopkins Center for AIDS Research (CFAR).  His research interests focus on tuberculosis and HIV infection, including global control, prevention, clinical trials, and public health interventions. He leads research projects in South Africa, Malawi, Brazil and India and serves as Chair of the TB Transformative Science Group of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group. He has published over 460 scientific papers and book chapters.
