Inter-TRAC 2024 TB Data Science Hack Day

Tuesday, December 10, 2024 | 9am - 3pm ET
Speaker: SEATRAC, Emory/GA TRAC, JHU TRAC

The JHU TRAC will be joining the Emory/GA TRAC as part of an ‘East Coast collaboration’ with the SEATRAC’s annual TB Data Science Hack Day on December 10, 2024. This is an all-day event in which teams work together to construct a data analysis and visualization for a common challenge: to develop new analytical insights from published bulk and single-cell RNA-seq datasets that profile non-human primate host gene expression during Mtb infection and BCG vaccination.

JHU TRAC will join SEATRAC and Emory/GA TRAC for a presentation by Alex Shalek (MIT, Harvard) on correlates of protection for IV BCG and Mtb immunity in NHP.

Interested in participating?

If you are interested in participating, or have any questions about the event, please email David Dowdy (Director of the Bioinformatics, Modeling, & Biostatistics Core) at ddowdy1@jhmi.edu, no later than November 15. Dr. Dowdy will coordinate teams having mutual interest and also integrate efforts at JHU with those at Emory/GA and SEATRAC.

People with all levels of skill and familiarity with the topic are encouraged to attend!!

Get ready with these upcoming lunch & learn workshops from seatrac

JHU TRAC members are invited to join the SEATRAC Workshop Series recommended for those interested in attending the 2024 TB Hack Day. The flyer above is Pacific Time for Seattle, please note that the SEATRAC TB Data Science Lunch and Learns are held on Tuesdays from 2:30pm – 4:30pm ET. Email kate.b@jhu.edu to receive the zoom link.

This workshop series is aimed at novice to intermediate R coders. We assume no prior knowledge in Intro to R and then progress from there in subsequent weeks. This series will help prepare those new to R or new to RNAseq data for the SEATRAC Hack Day.

There is 1-1.5 hrs of content per workshop with remaining time dedicated to attendee questions. These questions and associated code will be posted to the GitHub repo after each workshop.
